Ground Breaking Hair Transplant Technology

ARTAS utilises state of the art technology that revolutionises the way we approach the whole hair transplant procedure. Traditionally, hair transplants were performed by hand, opening the door to potential scarring, long recovery times and general human error. ARTAS takes advantage of robotic precision to selectively harvest healthy hair follicles and relocates them to the required area of the body. In just a few months you will begin to notice your new hair flourishing, restoring your confidence and rediscovering you.

Hair Loss

During a traditional hair transplant procedure, the donor hairs used for transplant are removed in a strip from the side and back of the head. This leaves an unsightly ring of baldness around the scalp that you definitely don’t want. The ARTAS procedure changes all of that by strategically removing donor hairs while still preserving the overall appearance of the head. You will be able to walk out from your procedure without any signs of hair harvesting. Prior to the development of the ARTAS® system, anyone dealing with hair loss or thinning hair usually turned to solutions such as hairpieces, hair plugs or painful hair transplants. Some took medications that have to be taken for life. Traditional hair transplant surgery caused side effects such as bleeding, itchiness, infection, swelling, and/or inflammation. These procedures can be painful and involve long recovery times. They also require more follow-up visits before patients noticeably show a full head of hair.

Hair loss affects men and women throughout many different stages of life, it may come as a surprise, but it is no mystery. There is always a cause. At KLNIK, the cause can be diagnosed by our doctors and trained hair restoration specialist, who can recommend appropriate treatment. Both men and women suffer hair loss but patterns may be different in women than in men.

Male pattern hair loss (Androgenic Alopecia) is a condition caused by a combination of genetics and hormones. The genes can be inherited from either the mother or father’s side. The onset, rate, and severity of hair loss are unpredictable. The severity increases with age and if the condition is present it will be progressive and relentless.

However, hair loss is not only a male concern, since 2004, the number of female surgical hair restoration treatments has increased by 24% and women make up to 15% of procedures in total.

Hair Loss Causes

While hereditary or genetic influences are the most common cause in both genders, women have a higher incidence of medical conditions that may be causing, or contributing to hair loss and/or thinning. To manage hair loss, it is vital that the contributing factors are identified. This is usually possible with a simple history check and physical examination by our KLNIK  specialists.

Many candidates for surgical hair restoration or hair transplantation are still unaware of the tremendous advances that have been made in the development of techniques, surgical approaches, and aesthetic design in the modern day follicular transplant procedures.

KLNIK is home to the most effective non-surgical treatments that truly do stop hair loss, reversing the process in a majority of patients. The ARTAS robotic procedure at KLNIK is a minimally invasive hair restoration solution that uses digital imaging and precision robotics to harvest healthy grafts for transplantation.

Using ARTAS, there is no need for the surgical removal of tissue from the back and sides of the head that most hair transplant procedures require and as a result, there is no linear scars left after surgery and no need for sutures or staples to close the wound. ARTAS at KLNIK results in a quick recovery time and the ability for you to return to normal activities and work sooner.

Why Choose KLNIK?

Using KLNIK's state of the art ARTAS® robot, we are able to safely transfer up to 2,500 follicular unit grafts (over 5000 hairs) in a single session that can last all day. It may be possible to carry out two such sessions at KLNIK on consecutive days in order to achieve higher numbers.

Rigorously tested and cleared by the FDA and other international regulatory bodies, KLNIK is proud to use ARTAS® the world’s only Robotic System for hair transplant surgery automation, allowing our doctors to achieve larger cases of truly outstanding results, efficiently and safely.

A medically pioneering treatment, the ARTAS robotic procedure involves your hairs being harvested in their natural groupings and then transplanted individually. Individual transplantation provides you with the look you desire, including a great looking hairline and a fuller head of hair.

Using image-guided robotics, the ARTAS Robotic System precisely dissects follicular units, thousands of times in a single session. Intuitive controls and intelligent algorithms select and harvest the most viable hair for transplant. A two-step dissection system produces healthy grafts while maintaining the natural appearance of the patient’s donor area. Developed to extend the capabilities of your doctor, the ARTAS Robotic System enables consistently better outcomes with every procedure.

ARTAS vs Handheld

Procedures done throughout the world are manual handheld FUE procedures, like a NeoGraft device. A manual handheld FUE hair transplant is a procedure that is done by a physician using a handheld device to extract the individual hair follicles. Much of the success of this form of procedure is entire as a result of the efficiency and experience of the Physician, to ensure that harvesting happens at a natural distance apart and that the hair follicle does not get transected during harvesting. Perfectly extracting 500 – 3,000 follicles by hand takes a steady hand and a tremendous amount of time. Grafts dissected by the handheld Neograft device may result in skinny and exposed grafts vulnerable to handling damage and ‘drying out’ due to their vacuum method of extraction. Using the Neograft device the spacing of harvest sites must be guessed visually by the operator, with non-robotic devices there is simply no mapping, calculations or automatic safeguards to track previous dissection sites.

The location and characteristics of each follicular unit are tracked in real time during the procedure with updates 60 times per second. The high-definition interface provides multiple views of the treatment areas, allowing our technicians to adjust parameters without interrupting the procedure. With the ARTAS Robotic System, our technicians harvest follicular units with speed and precision far beyond manual techniques for efficient and consistent results.

During site making, terminal hairs are avoided, this minimises the risk of trauma to the existing hairs.

The Benefits of ARTAS

Following the ARTAS procedure your hair can be worn fashionably short, or in longer styles, to your personal preference. The ARTAS system selectively harvests individual hair groupings rather than removing a large area of scalp which requires sutures, there is minimal scarring in the donor area.

ARTAS provides innovative and accurate precision technology, which is something that is unachievable with any type of manual handheld follicle hair transplant procedure.
The key advantage of ARTAS is eliminating the factor of human error, such as fatigue with traditional follicle harvesting. Manual procedures lasting 3-6 hours of harvesting individual follicles can be very taxing for any doctors and as that time progresses, the quality of the thousandths follicle cannot be guaranteed to be the same quality as the first. In addition, it is virtually impossible for the human eye to predict hair angles under the scalp or have exact measured spacing between each extraction to ensure the natural look post procedure.
ARTAS at KLNIK eliminates these human errors, digitally mapping your scalp and allowing 3D real-time analysis, to calculate the best results and key areas for your transplant.

You may have seen hair transplant procedures offered in Turkey and wider Europe, however, you should be aware that not all procedures are the same. Services offered abroad may propose a transplant treatment exceeding 5000 grafts per treatment, however, the quality and safety of this should not be taken lightly. Too many grafts may result in sub-quality results, with the recommended amount being around 2500.

Aftercare

Most patients experience mild pain after hair transplantation. If discomfort does occur, it usually can be controlled with pain relievers. You may use baby shampoo or other mild shampoo on your hair the first day following your procedure, using a low-pressure shower head on the site.

With fantastic results after a few months, the transplanted hair will begin to grow in its new location. Your newly transplanted hair, like the rest of your hair will grow steadily over time. After around six months, you will start to notice significant growth. The hair will continue to grow in the treated balding areas over the coming months.

Follow up appointments at KLNIK will help assess you post care and help you feel comfortable with your ARTAS journey.

Our one-to-one consultation at KLNIK will identify if you are suitable ARTAS candidate for advanced hair loss treatment. Our doctors and trained technicians will assess your key areas and help you set realistic expectations about how the ARTAS treatment can address your hair loss needs.
